The Browse Tally Sheets screen allows you to add or edit tally sheets in CruiseCalc. Tally sheets are listed in reverse date order, meaning that the last tally sheet you enter will be displayed first on the list. You can also filter the list by clicking on the Set Filter button and selecting a client. Only the tally sheets you have entered for that client are displayed while the filter is turned on.

The Edit Tally Sheet window allows you to enter all of the data associated with a tally sheet in preparation for printing a Cruise Report. You can select what type of report you want to create, customer information, tract information, and the tree tallies for pulpwood, chip & saw, and saw timber species.

When you are entering or editing a tally sheet and click on the Edit Pulpwood Tally button, the Add/Edit Pulpwood Tallies window opens. The screen allows you to enter tree counts by Dbh and the corresponding volumes are calculated and displayed on the screen as you work. This reduces your proofing time by allow you to spot errors long before you print them to paper.

The Add/Edit Saw Timber Tallies  window allows you to select each species you want to include in your report and then enter tree counts by Dbh and Log Heights. You can include an unlimited number of species and the system comes with volumes tables that range from 10-40 Dbh's and 1-6 log heights stepped by half-logs. You can select a Primary and Secondary Volume Table and Form Class to allow you to print comparison Cruise Reports.

Once you finish entering all of your tallies, you can then return to the Browse Tally Sheets window and click on the Print button. The Print Cruise Report window allows you to customize exactly how you want your Cruise Reports to print. You can print either the standard Cruise Report, A Log Detail Report of Sawtimber or both.

You can print your report using the Primary or Secondary Volume Tables or both for comparison purposes. You can preview the report the report on the screen before you print to make sure that your getting the report you expect. You can even perform simple future and past volume calculations based upon a set growth rate percentage.

There are additional reports that you can print including lists of all the data files that are part of the CruiseCalc system. You can print reports of all of your volume factors for either using in the field or just for checking the system setup.

Unlike many cruise software packages, CruiseCalc lets you set all of the volume factors to meet your own individual needs. CruiseCalc comes pre-loaded with conservative volume factors including the USDA tables for Scribner, International, and Doyle. The pre-loaded tables have been tested and used by timber buyers over the last ten years so you can be confident that you can install the program and begin using it right away.
